Productivity Tools

The four information processing tools are the following: Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Drawing/Painting, and Database.

These four processing tools are very handy and useful.

Word Processing is a useful tool as it allows people to type out documents, letters, ect making them look professional. This could be used in a classroom, by getting the students to type out a report, write a letter, make a poem, it can be used for all kinds of things. A curriculum connection example would be early learning, on how to write a poem. Also here is an example I made in class.

Spreadsheet is a useful tool as it allows you to put in numbers along with formulas and it automatically figures out the answer for you at a incredible speed, allowing you more time to do other things, as you do not have to sit and figure it out in person. This could be used in a classroom by getting the students to make spreadsheets on things that have lots of information. A curriculum connection would be  grade eight, with a subject of math and a topic of ratio and proportion. Here is an example I made in class.

Drawing/Painting is used from Word Processing and has a lot of cool tools to allow things to become more creative and interesting. This could be used in a classroom by getting a student to go and make a poster. A curriculum connection would be grade six, with a subject of arts and a topic of visual art. Here is an example I made in class.

Databases are also a very interesting tool as they allow you to put information into a table and take and sort them allowing you too see all the information neatly processed and be able to see all the facts. This could be used in a classroom for an example of doing a survey of all the students eyes colors, birthdates ect. A curriculum connection for this would be grade five, in a subject of math and a topic of sorting data.
